Calling All Walkers!
Summer is the very best time to appreciate this beautiful area with its breathtaking views. Whether you are a serious walker, or a birdwatcher, or someone who just likes to stroll for a few hundred yards (or even less). There are lots of organised walks for those who like some company, and plenty of places to just wander off alone should you want your own space. There is no better way to unwind. We are in the process of building up a library of suggested routes for walks of all kinds, also routes for cyclists, horse riders (accompanied if required), carriage drivers, and motorists.
The Cross Wales Walk takes place on 21 June, and finishes at The Anchor Inn (just one mile from New Cwm Farm, and right next door to The Anchorage). The full distance is 42 miles, or a shortened walk of 8 miles for the less fit! Check out www.newtown-rotary.org.uk
Hatched, Matched and Despatched
Misty had a gorgeous colt foal at 9.10pm on 20 May. Katherine saw him when he was a couple of minutes old. Our little grandchildren have called him Thomas (as in the Tank Engine)!

Bee Bee, our 11.1hh chestnut mare has gone to a dun Welsh Section A stallion. He has a long and unpronounceable welsh name, but his stable name is Goldie.
Joy, a little 19 year old has gone on loan to nearby Kerry as a lead rein pony for a family with four kiddies.
Lambing 2008
Another successful lambing season, which is always a relief. Our lovely Welsh mule ewe again produced four healthy lambs, and our Cade (bottled reared) ewe had one white lamb (by the Texel tup) and two black lambs (by the Suffolk). One by the milkman, two by the coalman - what a tart!
Our first
early lamb together with a selection of the main crop.
